Dagoberto Tróia recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 56th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Willian Valladares took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nilton Paranaense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The attack was good, but when Dagoberto Tróia in the 65th minute was about to shoot he didn't kick quite good enough and the ball went high over goal. Adriano Novaes hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. Frédson Vander made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cléber das Neves in the 71st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilton Paranaense in the 74th minute of play forced Ascencao's goalkeeper Willian Valladares to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Ascencao booed when Victoria was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 83 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fellipe de Lara didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fellipe de Lara's late challenge caught a Ascencao's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fellipe de Lara helped the player get up and apologised. In the 84th minute, Fellipe de Lara hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ascencao's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cléber das Neves was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. When Nilton Paranaense came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Victoria fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nilton Paranaense couldn't finish the play. Nilton Paranaense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 92nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Willian Valladares having to interfere. In the 94th minute, one of Ascencao:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Ascencao. José Tasso shot the penalty kick right outside the post. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
