In the 8th minute Richard Passos shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Horácio Monteiro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 10th minute, Benê Ferraz ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Ian Lopes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Richard Passos sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Cássio Valle's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Horácio Monteiro was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. If Enrique Netto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 23rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in Catanduva EC's zone, Enrique Netto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ian Lopes came out of the goal and Enrique Netto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Enrique Netto in the 37th minute of play forced Catanduva EC's goalkeeper Ian Lopes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 38th minute, Dagoberto Lopez hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Benê Ferraz had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 1-0 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Enrique Netto made a kick off. Horácio Monteiro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cássio Valle in the 52nd minute of play. Ian Lopes made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benê Ferraz in the 53rd minute of play.
