Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Claudinho Varela started the match with the kick off. Coxos AD's Denílson Melo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Inácio Bezerra in the 11th minute of play. In the 13th minute, Diamantino Velloso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Claudinho Varela struck a weak shot in the 14th minute. Fellipe da Silveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Coxos AD. The audience was convinced that Inácio Bezerra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Denílson Melo was relentless in the 18th minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tostão Fernandez got free with Fellipe da Silveira in the 21st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Romário Freitas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Denílson Melo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Coxos AD's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Bezerra came free, but Denílson Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Hernani Diniz came up free with the goalie in the 27th minute, the Coxos AD fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Hernani Diniz couldn't finish the play. 28 minutes into the game, Diamantino Velloso was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Mattao SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Coxos AD the free kick. Diamantino Velloso hit a great freekick 28 minutes into the match. Tostão Fernandez's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fellipe da Silveira firmly grabbed it by the left post. Denílson Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Inácio Bezerra, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Romário Freitas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 37th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Denílson Melo having to interfere. Denílson Melo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Romário Freitas in the 39th minute of the match. After having played for 41 minutes, Romário Freitas managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Mattao SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Romário Freitas was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Inácio Bezerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 44th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Inácio Bezerra to strike the kick off in the second half. Inácio Bezerra recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 51st minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Romário Freitas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The audience was convinced that Inácio Bezerra's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Denílson Melo was relentless in the 60th minute of the game. In the 64th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mattao SS's goalkeeper Fellipe da Silveira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Fellipe da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tostão Fernandez, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Romário Freitas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 69thth minute tested the skills of Denílson Melo when he managed to save the team from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Mattao SS's zone, Tostão Fernandez stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fellipe da Silveira came out of the goal and Tostão Fernandez tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Tostão Fernandez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fellipe da Silveira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 78th minute of play. Mattao SS were disappointed that they only managed a draw, even though they felt themselves to be the better team.
