Ademar Pontes struck a weak shot in the 9th minute. Manoel Oliveira didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Cavaru SS. 11 minutes in the game, Luiz Fabiano Freire fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Arí Pontes having to interfere. Gildo Lopes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 13th minute of the match, but Arí Pontes made a huge save. With a little luck, Cavaru SS's Arí Pontes got control of the ball when Gildo Lopes tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 16 played minutes Cavaru SS got a freekick which was hit by Conrado Monteiro. Luiz Fabiano Freire sent away a hard shot on goal in the 17th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Arí Pontes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luiz Fabiano Freire, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Manoel Oliveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ademar Pontes, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute.
