Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. 32 minutes into the match, Jeferson Senna dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Sérgio Arce, 2-0. In the 37th minute of the match, Rony Veiga got a very nice opportunity to score, but Sérgio Arce was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When Duarte Sá came up free with the goalie in the 40th minute, the Gol a Gol FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Duarte Sá couldn't finish the play. 43 minutes into the game, Edson Barbosa cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Ernani da Fonseca was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 47 minutes into the match, Murillo Abreu notched a goal, 2-2, to the right of Mantenopolis's Ernani da Fonseca. Ernani da Fonseca was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The wind increased when Jeferson Senna made the kick off in the second half. After 54 played minutes Haroldo Sergipano rounded Mantenopolis's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 2-3. Haroldo Sergipano fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 58th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ernani da Fonseca having to interfere. Ernani da Fonseca showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edson Barbosa in the 62nd minute of the match. After 64 played minutes Gol a Gol FC got a freekick which was hit by Duarte Sá. Jeferson Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 65th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sérgio Arce having to interfere. If Edson Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 69th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 71 minutes into the match, Rony Veiga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Sérgio Arce. Gol a Gol FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rony Veiga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-3. In the 74th minute of the match Henrique Proença sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Sérgio Arce skillfully saved the ball. In the 78th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mantenopolis's goalkeeper Ernani da Fonseca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arlindo Cardozo in the 80th minute of play forced Gol a Gol FC's goalkeeper Sérgio Arce to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Mantenopolis booed when Gol a Gol FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 82 match minutes in a wonderful position. Murillo Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Mantenopolis's zone, Murillo Abreu stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ernani da Fonseca came out of the goal and Murillo Abreu tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 97 played minutes, Mantenopolis's Henrique Proença shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Sérgio Arce came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Mantenopolis reached it. Gol a Gol FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
