The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Gol a Gol FC's Duarte Sá quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Artur Figueiredo, made in the 3rd minute of the game. João Carlos Coutinho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 6th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. When the match had been going on for 13 minutes Dráusio Araújo shot a great shot from long distance. It looked like a certain goal, but the audience witnessed a really smashing save by João Vítor Barral when he caught the ball only just under the crossbar. Sérgio Arce took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Kaká Nunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Gol a Gol FC's Luís Guilherme de Carvalho got a free kick in the 28th minute. If Edson Barbosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 31st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 36 minutes into the match, Gol a Gol FC's goal looked a bit too open when João Carlos Coutinho came free, but Sérgio Arce reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 38 played minutes Gol a Gol FC got a freekick which was hit by Duarte Sá. Haroldo Sergipano's late challenge caught a Landi's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. Duarte Sá was shown his second yellow card after 94 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. For all the effort they put into the match, the Landi players left disappointed. They had fought hard, but couldn't break down the home team's defense. The match ended in a win for Gol a Gol FC.
