Through an outstanding action, after 18 minutes, Paulinho Maranhense successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 21st minute Eriberto Barral shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vitório Sá saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Carlos Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. Thiago Cruz hit a great ball. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Eriberto Barral made the kick off in the second half. After a rather tough play, FC-INDEPENDENCIA's Dida Valladares got a free kick in the 60th minute. The Cajazeiras SS fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-1. FC-INDEPENDENCIA's Paulinho Maranhense played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Thiago Cruz in the 76th minute of play. 4-1 became the score in the 78th minute when Thiago Cruz elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Artur Porto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Paulinho Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Cajazeiras SS fans cheered their team off the field, for while FC-INDEPENDENCIA had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
