In the 34thth minute of the game Benê Romero who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Gracas's Luiz Eduardo Tepedino was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Frédson dos Santos to make the kick off. After 61 played minutes São Paulo FC got a freekick which was hit by Basilio Rodas. João Adolfo Damião fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Flavinho Vides having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Frédson dos Santos's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Flavinho Vides was relentless in the 74th minute of the game.
