After 15 minutes of play, Paraná Clube's Dinei Maranhense made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sun Fei Xu was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 17th match minute, Paraná Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gilberto Vargas to maneuver through the defense. In the 19th minute, Rodriguinho Fernandes got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Xacotao F.C.'s Sun Fei Xu played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Valdo Luz in the 20th minute of play. Reynaldo Neiva received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Sun Fei Xu tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 23 minutes, Ronaldo Mendonça mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Xacotao F.C. and the Paraná Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Xacotao F.C.'s Ronaldo Mendonça got a free kick in the 24th minute. In the 29thth minute of the game Valdo Luz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Xacotao F.C.'s Sun Fei Xu was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Reynaldo Neiva had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 30th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some careless play in the Xacotao F.C. defense, Valdo Luz kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Sun Fei Xu. The Xacotao F.C. fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Sun Fei Xu should have stopped the shot. Sun Fei Xu showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Valdo Luz, who was totally free with the ball in the 36th minute. Valdo Luz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 42nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sun Fei Xu having to interfere. In the 44th match minute, Paraná Clube was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Valdo Luz to maneuver through the defense. In the 45th minute, Ronaldo Mendonça hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Disappointed in the 0-4 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Ronaldo Mendonça to make the kick off. Sun Fei Xu was a little too slow when Reynaldo Neiva got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 0-5. In the 58th play minute Valdo Luz came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Sun Fei Xu. 0-6. Valdo Luz in the 66thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Sun Fei Xu, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Valdo Luz got in the 67th a clear chance and fired away a hard shot against goal, but Sun Fei Xu handled the situation perfectly and made a save by the crossbar. In the 68th minute Reynaldo Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sun Fei Xu saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. A collision led to Paraná Clube getting a freekick after 71 minutes play. Dalmo Domingues hit a great ball. If Ronaldo Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sun Fei Xu took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Reynaldo Neiva, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Valdo Luz's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 78thth minute, Sun Fei Xu skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After 82 played minutes Xacotao F.C. got a freekick which was hit by Rodriguinho Fernandes. A hard shot 84 in the game by Valdo Luz from a close distance when the talented Sun Fei Xu managed to make a qualified save. Xacotao F.C.'s players were relieved. With a little luck, Xacotao F.C.'s Sun Fei Xu got control of the ball when Valdo Luz tried to sneak it across the goal line. Reynaldo Neiva fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sun Fei Xu having to interfere. Ronaldo Mendonça hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Paraná Clube's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
