In the 4th minute Gildo Tróia shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Flavinho Recife saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael Veiga could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 9th minute of the match, but Flavinho Recife made a huge save. 11 minutes into the match, Rio Branco's goalkeeper Flavinho Recife had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rafael Veiga. When Taio SC's Gildo Tróia in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Rio Branco's goalie prevented a goal. Benjamin Cunha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Luís Fabiano Tróia read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 16th minute of play. Benjamin Cunha received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 18th minute. Luís Fabiano Tróia tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. When Rafael Veiga came up free with the goalie in the 21st minute, the Taio SC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Rafael Veiga couldn't finish the play. 25 minutes into the match, Rafael Veiga had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Flavinho Recife. Rio Branco's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Rafael Veiga was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Luís Fabiano Tróia made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Benjamin Cunha in the 32nd minute of play. With his leg Flavinho Recife managed to avoid a goal in the 40thth minute, when Taio SC's Rafael Veiga fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 44th minute, Benjamin Cunha ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Luís Fabiano Tróia was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The supporters of Rio Branco booed when Taio SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 53 match minutes in a wonderful position. Elias Carvalho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luisão Santana recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 55th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. An unexpected shot in the 61st minute by Benjamin Cunha got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 64th minute, Luisão Santana hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of Rio Branco booed when Taio SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 65 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rafael Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. A collision led to Taio SC getting a freekick after 80 minutes play. Willian da Costa hit a great ball. Benjamin Cunha might have been able to make a better finish in the 81st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Luís Fabiano Tróia. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Benjamin Cunha ran back to his position shaking his head. João Augusto Toledo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 82nd minute. The Rio Branco players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Taio SC from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
