But to his dismay, Waldemar Guedes quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. Roberto Breckenfeld took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Waldemar Guedes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Monteiro FC's Roberto Breckenfeld played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Fausto Rodrigues in the 31st minute of play. An unexpectedly hard shot by Waldemar Guedes in the 46th minute of play forced Monteiro FC's goalkeeper Roberto Breckenfeld to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-2 lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Waldemar Guedes stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Monteiro FC's Erik de Medeiros got a good chance for a goal in the 52nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Waldemar Guedes fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Roberto Breckenfeld having to interfere. 63 minutes into the match, China's goal looked a bit too open when Betinho Loyola came free, but Valdir Nogueira reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When Erik de Medeiros came up free with the goalie in the 64th minute, the Monteiro FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erik de Medeiros couldn't finish the play. 68 minutes into the match, Fausto Rodrigues had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Roberto Breckenfeld. Monteiro FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Fausto Rodrigues was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-3. With an all-out effort, China's Roberto Breckenfeld threw himself towards the right post 77 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Waldemar Guedes, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Valdir Nogueira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Betinho Loyola, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. In the 81st minute, Geovânio Goiano hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Erik de Medeiros in the 82nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Valdir Nogueira prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Valdir Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Betinho Loyola in the 89th minute of the match. Waldemar Guedes struck a weak shot in the 91st minute. Roberto Breckenfeld didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for China. If Fausto Rodrigues had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. China's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
