In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Muriahe's goalkeeper Vito Xavier, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Vito Xavier showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. Manuel de Mendonça showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Maria de Lara in the 29th minute of the match. Duarte Leme fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Manuel de Mendonça having to interfere. Vito Xavier acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 34th minute, took the ball on the long shot from Pedro Macedo. The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Duarte Leme was the one to do the kick off. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that José Maria de Lara couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in EspartaFC's zone, Duarte Leme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Manuel de Mendonça came out of the goal and Duarte Leme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Edson de Barros sent away a hard shot on goal in the 62nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Vito Xavier stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Edson de Barros's shot from short distance in the 66th minute.
