To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Matta's Renan Peres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Sabóia in the 33rd minute of play. Matta's Paulinho Arruda got a good chance for a goal in the 36th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 37th minute, Fabrício Fontes hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Matta's Renan Peres played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Leandro Sabóia in the 39th minute of play. Paulinho Arruda fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Lara having to interfere. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Paulinho Arruda in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Tony Lara saved Pinhel from getting behind. In the 46th minute of the match Matta got a corner. Pinhel's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Guto Pontes ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in Guto Pontes almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Pinhel's Tony Lara did a great save. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Alessandro Ramos made a kick off. 51 minutes into the game, Alessandro Ramos recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Tony Lara. Alessandro Ramos showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-2. Fellipe Oliveira kicked well hit freekick during the 56th minute of the match. Tony Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alessandro Ramos, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 65 minutes into the game, Matta's Alessandro Ramos nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Tony Lara made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. If Leandro Sabóia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 68th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Renan Peres stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Leandro Sabóia's shot from short distance in the 70th minute. Baltazar Rosa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tony Lara having to interfere. 74 minutes into the match, Leandro Sabóia had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Renan Peres. Matta's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Leandro Sabóia was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3.
