Spectators: 7310 (Terracing: 5484, Seating: 1681, VIP seats: 145) Arroio do Sal E.C.'s Luciano Pedrosa started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After a defensive mix-up in Ituverava's zone, Luciano Pedrosa stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Basílio Cerezo came out of the goal and Luciano Pedrosa tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Basílio Cerezo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Pedrosa in the 5th minute of the match. 7 minutes into the match, Arroio do Sal E.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Kaká Messias came free, but Napier Ibio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Angelo Lago kicked well hit freekick during the 11th minute of the match. Kaká Messias fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Napier Ibio having to interfere. In the 19th minute Kaká Messias shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Napier Ibio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. With a little luck, Ituverava's Basílio Cerezo got control of the ball when Amílton Velasco tried to sneak it across the goal line. Basílio Cerezo showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luciano Pedrosa in the 22nd minute of the match. If Kaká Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 24th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Amílton Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 28th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Basílio Cerezo having to interfere. After having played for 30 minutes, Paulo José Hermes managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ituverava's supporters crossed their fingers, but Paulo José Hermes was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 34th play minute Amílton Velasco came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Basílio Cerezo. 1-0. Amílton Velasco's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 42ndth minute, Basílio Cerezo skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 43rd minute, Amílton Velasco managed to get in a good position for a shot. Arroio do Sal E.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Amílton Velasco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Basílio Cerezo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ituverava's Basílio Cerezo played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luciano Pedrosa in the 45th minute of play. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Kaká Messias to make the kick off. In the 53rd minute, Arroio do Sal E.C.'s goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Kaká Messias fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. Paulo José Hermes who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 58thth minute tested the skills of Napier Ibio when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Luciano Pedrosa took the ball and in the 60 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Basílio Cerezo. Basílio Cerezo dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-0. In the 70th minute of the match, Kaká Messias tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Napier Ibio saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 71 minutes had been played when some careless play by Arroio do Sal E.C.'s defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Germano Furtado was slow to take the kick. During this time Ituverava's players had a chance to rest. Luciano Pedrosa recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 74th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Basílio Cerezo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Amílton Velasco in the 75th minute of play. If Luciano Pedrosa had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kaká Messias sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luciano Pedrosa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 87th minute. Basílio Cerezo tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 89 minutes into the match, Paulo José Hermes notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Arroio do Sal E.C.'s Napier Ibio. Napier Ibio was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Kaká Messias had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kaká Messias might have been able to make a better finish in the 96th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Napier Ibio. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Kaká Messias ran back to his position shaking his head. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. Arroio do Sal E.C. had played much better football throughout.
