The referee ignored Pucazeiro SS's protests and gave Clemente Trancoso a yellow card for diving instead. A collision led to Pucazeiro SS getting a freekick after 13 minutes play. Clemente Trancoso hit a great ball. After 16 played minutes Pacovalinho EC got a freekick which was hit by Eusébio Fontes. Pacovalinho EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 17th minute, when Toninho Paes scored to the left of an out of position Válter da Costa, making the score, 1-0. In the 21st minute, Pacovalinho EC's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Renato Prado fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After some careless play in the Pacovalinho EC defense, Renato Prado kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Válter da Costa. The Pacovalinho EC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Válter da Costa should have stopped the shot. Toninho Paes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 27th minute. Válter da Costa tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ademir Neto recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 30th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Paulão Cruz hit a great freekick 31 minutes into the match. The supporters of Pacovalinho EC booed when Pucazeiro SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Carlinhos Meira didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Pucazeiro SS's Carlinhos Meira got a free kick in the 36th minute. Pucazeiro SS's Luiz Eduardo Prata played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Aírton de Mendonça in the 42nd minute of play. If Aírton de Mendonça had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. If Ademir Neto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 47th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Toninho Paes to make the kick off. Jefferson Pena's late challenge caught a Pacovalinho EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jefferson Pena helped the player get up and apologised. In the 78th minute, one of Pucazeiro SS:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pucazeiro SS. Válter da Costa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Toninho Paes in the 82nd minute of the match. Ademir Neto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 84th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 88 played minutes Pacovalinho EC got a freekick which was hit by Ademir Neto. Ademir Neto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 91st minute.
