The referee ignored Tupe FC's protests and gave Renatinho Carvalho a yellow card for diving instead. After a defensive mix-up in Tupe FC's zone, Leonardo Moreira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Sydney Zonta came out of the goal and Leonardo Moreira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Eduardo Leal to make the kick off. Rafa Mangueira kicked well hit freekick during the 51st minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Eduardo Leal managed to get in a good position for a shot. Tupe FC's supporters rose to their feet, but Eduardo Leal was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alex de Lara breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Leonardo Moreira in the 87th minute of play forced Tupe FC's goalkeeper Sydney Zonta to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Carlos Fernando Campidelis left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Muniz fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
