The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Zeca Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Pedrinho Mendes in the 3rd minute of the match. Sanharo's Elder Alcântara got a good chance for a goal in the 6th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Bebeto Barbosa hit a great freekick 8 minutes into the match. Zeca Batista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elder Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 15th minute. In the 16th minute Pedrinho Mendes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zeca Batista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in Sanharo's zone, Enrique Bueno stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Germano Vianna came out of the goal and Enrique Bueno tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 22 minutes into the match, Nova Colina's goal looked a bit too open when Pedrinho Mendes came free, but Zeca Batista reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Germano Vianna made a fantastic save in the 30th minute, when Enrique Bueno sent off a good shot on target. 32 minutes into the game, Mané Queirós cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Zeca Batista was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Zeca Batista made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mané Queirós in the 37th minute of play. Enrique Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Germano Vianna having to interfere. Zeca Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zé Cearense in the 44th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elder Alcântara in the 48th minute of play forced Nova Colina's goalkeeper Zeca Batista to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Elder Alcântara made a kick off. In the 70th minute Leandro Dantas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Germano Vianna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Enrique Bueno might have been able to make a better finish in the 75th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Germano Vianna. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Enrique Bueno ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 76th minute, Sanharo's Elder Alcântara ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Zeca Batista. Zeca Batista yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-3. Zeca Batista showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elder Alcântara in the 80th minute of the match. Enrique Bueno scored 1-3 in the 84th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Germano Vianna, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After some fancy dribbling in the 87th minute, Enrique Bueno managed to get in a good position for a shot. Nova Colina's supporters rose to their feet, but Enrique Bueno was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Germano Vianna breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedro Augusto Vides's late challenge caught a Sanharo's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Augusto Vides helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Nova Colina getting a freekick after 91 minutes play. Pedro Augusto Vides hit a great ball. If Enrique Bueno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sanharo played a much better game than Nova Colina and deserved their victory. The Nova Colina players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
