Fernandinho Gaúcho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 7th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir dos Santos having to interfere. After some careless play in the Mellivora FC defense, Ernani Pirani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Ulisses Vander. The Mellivora FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Ulisses Vander should have stopped the shot. If Ernani Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 14th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Betão Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 15th minute. Ulisses Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Mellivora FC's Ulisses Vander played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ernani Pirani in the 19th minute of play. Rafa Zonta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 21st minute. Ulisses Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eriberto Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmir dos Santos having to interfere. If Rogério Pena had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Mellivora FC's zone, Ernani Pirani stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Ulisses Vander came out of the goal and Ernani Pirani tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The corner ended in Betão Ferreira almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Mellivora FC's Ulisses Vander did a great save. Eriberto Cruz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 36th minute. Walmir dos Santos tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 38th minute, Eriberto Cruz got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Ernani Pirani's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Ulisses Vander read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 43rd minute of play. Nico Paraíba fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 45th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ulisses Vander having to interfere. Fernandinho Gaúcho might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Walmir dos Santos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Fernandinho Gaúcho ran back to his position shaking his head. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Dráusio Novaes kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. It was beautiful to see Mellivora FC's Raimundo Brito in action when he in the 55th minute dribbled his way through a couple of opponents and the fired away a shot from almost standing still. First the ball seemed to get in, but turned out to be on the outside of the net. A great chance! Mellivora FC's Fernandinho Gaúcho got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Walmir dos Santos was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fernandinho Gaúcho showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-1 in the 62 minute of play. Betão Ferreira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 65th minute. Ulisses Vander tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 72nd minute Olinda F.C were awarded a corner. Betão Ferreira went to the cornerflag to take it. A nice corner shot did that Rogério Pena got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Ulisses Vander quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save.
