In the 3rd minute of the match Enéas Cerezo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Alexsandro Nascimento showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Jairo de Godoy in the 4th minute of play forced Bacuri's goalkeeper Alexsandro Nascimento to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. If Dorival Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 11th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dorival Simões in the 13th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alexsandro Nascimento prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When Jairo de Godoy came up free with the goalie in the 14th minute, the Sapucai fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Jairo de Godoy couldn't finish the play. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Dário Mota during the 15th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Sapucai booed when Bacuri was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 15 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dário Mota didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dorian Vides's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Duarte Koehler read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 18th minute of play. Dorian Vides sent away a hard shot on goal in the 19th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Benjamim Sena blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Duarte Koehler having to make a save. Duarte Koehler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorian Vides, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. In the 26th minute, Jairo de Godoy made a precise shot to the right of Alexsandro Nascimento. Bacuri's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-0. Duarte Koehler showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benjamim Sena, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. A collision led to Sapucai getting a freekick after 40 minutes play. Elano da Fonseca hit a great ball. In the 47th minute, Sapucai's Dorival Simões dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 2-1. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Dorival Simões made a kick off. Alexsandro Nascimento took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dorival Simões, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Bacuri's Alexsandro Nascimento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dorival Simões in the 55th minute of play. The audience was convinced that Dorian Vides's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Duarte Koehler was relentless in the 58th minute of the game. Benjamim Sena could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Duarte Koehler made a huge save. Sapucai's supporters rose to their feet, but Jairo de Godoy was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Alexsandro Nascimento breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 89 minutes into the game, Dorival Simões cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Alexsandro Nascimento was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Dorian Vides in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Duarte Koehler saved Sapucai from getting behind. Jairo de Godoy received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 94th minute. Alexsandro Nascimento tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The crowd rose to their feet and cheered when the referee blew the final whistle. Sapucai had won after a very even match.
