Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) The field was rather wet after several days of rain when Silvério Pirani took the kick off in the first half of the match. After 4 played minutes Catolezinho got a freekick which was hit by Kléber Paranaense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rodriguinho Braga got free with Umberto Motta in the 6th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. 7 minutes into the game, Kléber Paranaense was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Catolezinho's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Merejo the free kick. In the 11th match minute, Catolezinho was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Geovânio Lopez to maneuver through the defense. After 13 minutes of play, Merejo's Rodriguinho Braga made it 1-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Umberto Motta was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 18th minute of the match, Silvério Pirani tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Umberto Motta saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. The supporters of Catolezinho booed when Merejo was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 20 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodriguinho Braga didn't get a good kick on the ball. The crowd rose to their feet as Silvério Pirani kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Umberto Motta. That made the score 2-0 in the 23 minute of play. 3-0 became the score in the 26th minute when Silvério Pirani elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. 29 minutes into the match, Tiago de Andrade had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Adelino Correia. Merejo's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Tiago de Andrade was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 3-1. Merejo's Adelino Correia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tiago de Andrade in the 32nd minute of play. The corner led Catolezinho's Carlos Augusto Santos to fire away a dangerous shot which Adelino Correia despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Umberto Motta didn't succeed in stopping the ball in the 40th minute, which inside left pole to 5-1. Umberto Motta stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Silvério Pirani's shot from short distance in the 45th minute. When the match had gone on for 46 minutes, Guto Vieira put it in 5-2 from a short distance just to the right of Adelino Correia. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-2.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Tiago de Andrade to strike the kick off in the second half. Guto Vieira could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 52nd minute of the match, but Adelino Correia made a huge save. Catolezinho's Umberto Motta played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Silvério Pirani in the 55th minute of play. Rodriguinho Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Umberto Motta having to interfere. Umberto Motta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvério Pirani, who was totally free with the ball in the 66th minute. Rodriguinho Braga struck a weak shot in the 70th minute. Umberto Motta didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Merejo. With a little luck, Merejo's Adelino Correia got control of the ball when Guto Vieira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Geovânio Lopez kicked well hit freekick during the 76th minute of the match. In the 77th minute, Rodriguinho Braga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After some careless play in the Catolezinho defense, Silvério Pirani kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Umberto Motta. The Catolezinho fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Umberto Motta should have stopped the shot. Adelino Correia made a fantastic save in the 85th minute, when Guto Vieira sent off a good shot on target. After having played for 87 minutes, Rui Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Merejo's supporters crossed their fingers, but Rui Costa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Rui Teixeira hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. Merejo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Frédson Negri in the 93rd minute. Umberto Motta took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Silvério Pirani, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, Catolezinho's Kléber Paranaense got a free kick in the 95th minute. Merejo's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
