The Mecatron FC fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Mecatron FC's Horácio Lopes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. When Mecatron FC's Luisão Tróia in the 27th minute got a chance for a shot 27th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Valparaiso's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of Mecatron FC booed when Valparaiso was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 28 match minutes in a wonderful position. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of Valparaiso booed when Mecatron FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Chicão Veiga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Américo Tasso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Rodolfo Bertassi tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 37th minute, Cyryl Olchowy got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Elias Guerra showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisão Tróia, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. In the 46th minute the ball was on its way in behind Mecatron FC's goalkeeper Rodolfo Bertassi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After 47 minutes, Flavinho Sampaio mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Mecatron FC and the Valparaiso players grew even worse after the yellow card. After 47 played minutes Mecatron FC got a freekick which was hit by Flavinho Sampaio. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-1.

Mecatron FC's Horácio Lopes got a good chance for a goal in the 55th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Horácio Lopes in the 61st minute of play forced Valparaiso's goalkeeper Elias Guerra to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Cyryl Olchowy struck a weak shot in the 65th minute. Rodolfo Bertassi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Valparaiso. Horácio Lopes received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Elias Guerra tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luisão Tróia was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 70th minute. Mecatron FC's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Américo Tasso took the ball and in the 72 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Rodolfo Bertassi. Rodolfo Bertassi dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Elias Guerra showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Horácio Lopes in the 89th minute of the match. Américo Tasso hit a great freekick 92 minutes into the match. Horácio Lopes recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 93rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal.
