If Nicanor Mendez had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 3rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The crowd rose to their feet as Etiópia FC's José Maria de Senna slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Adhemar Branco. That made the score 1-0 after 8 minutes of play. Tony Weba took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Carlos Guedes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nicanor Mendez received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 14th minute. Adhemar Branco tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. José Maria de Senna fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 15th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adhemar Branco having to interfere. Nicanor Mendez's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Adhemar Branco read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 19th minute of play. In the 20th minute, Nicanor Mendez fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Adhemar Branco, passed just outside the right post. After a rather tough play, Arassui SS's Narciso de Salles got a free kick in the 22nd minute. In the 27thth minute of the game Nicanor Mendez who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arassui SS's Adhemar Branco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Arassui SS's goalkeeper couldn't reach when Nicanor Mendez 30 minutes into the game got a good kick on the ball which found its way into goal just inside left pole. 2-0. In the 34th minute, Nicanor Mendez got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nicanor Mendez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Nicanor Mendez stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Adhemar Branco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Nicanor Mendez, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. In the 53rd minute, Reinaldo Monteiro hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nicanor Mendez in the 78th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Adhemar Branco prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Adhemar Branco came out of the goal in the 79th minute to try and stop a shot by Etiópia FC's Alex Boldur. But to his dismay, Alex Boldur quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 4-1. Narciso de Salles kicked well hit freekick during the 87th minute of the match. Arassui SS's Adhemar Branco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Nicanor Mendez in the 88th minute of play. Adhemar Branco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Nicanor Mendez in the 89th minute of the match. A collision led to Arassui SS getting a freekick after 94 minutes play. Rodrigo Gerber hit a great ball. Waldir Seco took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 96th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Adhemar Branco. Arassui SS's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Etiópia FC fully deserved thier win.
