Mateus Galvão hit a great freekick 17 minutes into the match. Natanael Goiano could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but Hermínio Saldanha made a huge save. Hermínio Saldanha made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Natanael Goiano in the 33rd minute of play. A collision led to Kraken EC getting a freekick after 35 minutes play. Luiz Fernando Passos hit a great ball. If Rodolfo Katia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 39th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Fábio Gomes came out of the goal and Fábio Meirelles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Fábio Meirelles made the kick off in the second half. In the 58th minute, Natanael Goiano ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Hermínio Saldanha was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Rodolfo Katia during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Hermínio Saldanha stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Natanael Goiano's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. But to his dismay, Benjamim Mello quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Cristóvão Aguiar during the 86th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After 86 played minutes Independente Vila d Penha got a freekick which was hit by Cristóvão Aguiar. Mateus Galvão's late challenge caught a Kraken EC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Mateus Galvão helped the player get up and apologised. Mateus Galvão kicked well hit freekick during the 88th minute of the match. A collision led to Independente Vila d Penha getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Cristóvão Aguiar hit a great ball. The Independente Vila d Penha manager could be seen shouting at his players as they walked down the tunnel after the match. He was clearly angry that they had squandered their superior possession, allowing Kraken EC to win.
