After 7 minutes Ianatama SS's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Sílvio Luís Hermes who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Sílvio Luís Hermes got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Nestor Simões quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After some careless play in the Aracazinho FC defense, Albertinho Rezende kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Gerson Coelho. The Aracazinho FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Gerson Coelho should have stopped the shot. Diamantino Vale's late challenge caught a Aracazinho FC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Diamantino Vale helped the player get up and apologised. After 18 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Ianatama SS! The referee gave Aracazinho FC a penalty, 20 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Sílvio Luís Hermes, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Ianatama SS's Nestor Simões. 1-1. 23 minutes into the game, Alessandro Bezerra was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Aracazinho FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ianatama SS the free kick. When Ianatama SS's Silvinho Netto in 25 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Gerson Coelho guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. The audience was convinced that Albertinho Rezende's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Gerson Coelho was relentless in the 31st minute of the game. After 34 minutes, Vágner Ramalho mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Ianatama SS and the Aracazinho FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Luís Guilherme Faria sent away a hard shot on goal in the 35th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Albertinho Rezende recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 45th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 48 minutes into the match, Ianatama SS's goal looked a bit too open when Luís Guilherme Faria came free, but Nestor Simões reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 1-1 after a close first half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Albertinho Rezende made a kick off. In the 52nd minute, Ramiro Matorin got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Albertinho Rezende had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 56th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 58thth minute of the game Albertinho Rezende who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Aracazinho FC's Gerson Coelho was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Luís Guilherme Faria received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 62nd minute. Nestor Simões tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Gerson Coelho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Silvinho Netto, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. When Ianatama SS's Albertinho Rezende in the 77th minute got a chance for a shot 77th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Aracazinho FC's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 79 minutes, Albertinho Rezende managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ianatama SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Albertinho Rezende was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ramiro Matorin sent away a hard shot on goal in the 81st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. An unexpectedly hard shot by Silvinho Netto in the 87th minute of play forced Aracazinho FC's goalkeeper Gerson Coelho to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Albertinho Rezende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 91st minute Albertinho Rezende shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gerson Coelho saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Waldir Guerra sent away a hard shot on goal in the 93rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle. Both sets of players were happy to go away with a draw.
