Spectators: 6100 (Terracing: 4500, Seating: 1500, VIP seats: 100) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Alberto Donato started the match with the kick off. Ernesto Simões in the 6thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Nuno Ramos, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Donato in the 8th minute of play forced Rubro Negro's goalkeeper Claudinei Brodel to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 15 played minutes Rubro Negro got a freekick which was hit by Dino Chaves. Claudinei Brodel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Donato in the 16th minute of the match. Nuno Ramos made an important save on a dangerous shot by Ernesto Simões in the 19th minute. In the 22nd minute, Alberto Donato got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Matías Diniz fell near the penalty area in the 25th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Rubro Negro's protests and gave Matías Diniz a yellow card for diving instead. Claudinei Brodel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adolfo Maranhense in the 27th minute of the match. After 35 played minutes Rubro Negro got a freekick which was hit by Matías Diniz. 37 minutes into the match, Rubro Negro's goal looked a bit too open when Adolfo Maranhense came free, but Claudinei Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 42 minutes into the match, Rubro Negro's goal looked a bit too open when Sydney Pena came free, but Claudinei Brodel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Zé Paulo Massa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 47th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Nuno Ramos having to interfere.

Meditacao EC's Alberto Donato got a good chance for a goal in the 51st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Adolfo Maranhense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute. Claudinei Brodel tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Sydney Pena got his second yellow card in the match during the 55th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. After 55 played minutes Meditacao EC got a freekick which was hit by Sydney Pena. Meditacao EC's Nuno Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo Massa in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of Rubro Negro booed when Meditacao EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 57 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alberto Donato didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Zé Paulo Massa came up free with the goalie in the 58th minute, the Rubro Negro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Paulo Massa couldn't finish the play. After 62 minutes of play, Meditacao EC's Adolfo Maranhense made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Claudinei Brodel was left in no man's land by his defense there! Meditacao EC's Nuno Ramos played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Zé Paulo Massa in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute, Zé Paulo Massa made a precise shot to the right of Nuno Ramos. Meditacao EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Nuno Ramos came out of the goal in the 72nd minute to try and stop a shot by Rubro Negro's Zé Paulo Massa. But to his dismay, Zé Paulo Massa quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. Nuno Ramos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Paulo Massa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute, Ernesto Simões got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Nuno Ramos showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Paulo Massa, who was totally free with the ball in the 85th minute. If Ernesto Simões had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Adolfo Maranhense fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinei Brodel having to interfere. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Rubro Negro fans cheered their team off the field, for while Meditacao EC had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
