Boca Juniors's Samuca Montenegro proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 17th minute of the match, managed to save Boca Juniors from getting a goal against them. Wágner Novaes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Samuca Montenegro made a huge save. Samuca Montenegro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alexandre Bertassi in the 22nd minute of play. Paripe SC's Zé Paulo Aguiar played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Geovani de Carvalho in the 23rd minute of play. After 24 played minutes Boca Juniors got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Seco. Thanks to some nice moves Wágner Novaes could shoot a difficult shot in the 28th minute, which Samuca Montenegro however easily saved by the left post. Samuca Montenegro made a fantastic save in the 29th minute, when Wágner Novaes sent off a good shot on target. In the 30th minute, one of Paripe SC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Paripe SC. Zé Paulo Aguiar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Geovani de Carvalho in the 36th minute of play. Geovani de Carvalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Zé Paulo Aguiar having to interfere. If Yan Arruda had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 41st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Yan Arruda scored 1-3 in the 47th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Zé Paulo Aguiar, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Wágner Novaes to make the kick off. With a little luck, Paripe SC's Zé Paulo Aguiar got control of the ball when Basílio Seco tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 60 minutes, Jean Neto mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Paripe SC and the Boca Juniors players grew even worse after the yellow card. After a rather tough play, Paripe SC's Jean Neto got a free kick in the 60th minute. Boca Juniors's Basílio Seco got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when Paripe SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Marcelo Paulista didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Boca Juniors fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Boca Juniors's Geovani de Carvalho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. If Jan Visser had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 86th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. In the 86th minute, Jan Visser reached a very good position and smashed the ball with a huge effort into the net, just to the left of Zé Paulo Aguiar. The goal made the score 1-6. Yan Arruda came free with the goalkeeper in the 90th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Zé Paulo Aguiar could save by the left post. Yan Arruda did some fancy footwork in front of goal and succeeded to deceive the defenders so he could slam the ball in 1-7 to the left of a surprised Zé Paulo Aguiar 95 minutes into the match. Boca Juniors's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
