In the 18th minute, Geovani de Carvalho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Boca Juniors fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. The supporters of Boca Juniors booed when FC Fofatoba was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 31 match minutes in a wonderful position. Vânderson Oliveira didn't get a good kick on the ball. Reynaldo Maranhense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 65 minutes into the match, Boca Juniors's goal looked a bit too open when Sidnei Ramalho came free, but Samuca Montenegro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 66th minute, Nelsinho Pereira got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Samuca Montenegro made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 5-5. After some fancy dribbling in the 93rd minute, Nicolas Severo managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Fofatoba's supporters rose to their feet, but Nicolas Severo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Samuca Montenegro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Sidnei Ramalho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Montenegro having to interfere.
