Paraguacu's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Beto Moreno was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-2. After 17 played minutes Paraguacu got a freekick which was hit by Régis Sampaio. Kjell Hedvall showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Beto Moreno in the 18th minute of the match. Beto Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kjell Hedvall having to interfere. 23 minutes into the match, Paraguacu's goal looked a bit too open when Renan Dionísio came free, but Kjell Hedvall reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
