Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) Ypiranga's Denílson de Godoy started the match with a crisp pass. The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. After 12 played minutes Marangua got a freekick which was hit by Claudinho Travassos. Egídio Reis made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Caco do Nascimento in the 18th minute of play. Egídio Reis took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Vítor Gaúcho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Marangua's Nilton Gonçalves proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Marangua from getting a goal against them. Nilton Gonçalves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Geovani Tande, who was totally free with the ball in the 31st minute. In the 38th minute, Caco do Nascimento ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Egídio Reis was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2.

In the 51st minute, Paulão Macedo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 53rd minute João Vítor Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Egídio Reis saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 54th minute, Claudinho Travassos left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Marangua fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3. 60 minutes into the game, Iuri Mota was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Marangua's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ypiranga the free kick. After a rather tough play, Marangua's Iuri Mota got a free kick in the 60th minute. After 69 played minutes Ypiranga got a freekick which was hit by Valdomiro Moraes. When João Vítor Gaúcho came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Marangua fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that João Vítor Gaúcho couldn't finish the play. If Jerônimo Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 74 minutes into the match, Denílson de Godoy had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Nilton Gonçalves. Marangua's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Denílson de Godoy was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-3.
