With a little luck, Humaita's Clemente de Sousa got control of the ball when José Maciel tried to sneak it across the goal line. The supporters of Altos booed when Humaita was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 8 match minutes in a wonderful position. Wiggo Holletschek didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 12th minute, Pedro Luís Pena hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 18th minute, João Paulo Seco ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Clemente de Sousa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-0. In the 22nd play minute José Maciel came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Clemente de Sousa. 3-0. After a rather tough play, Humaita's Tiago Gabriel Furlan got a free kick in the 26th minute. In the 27th minute, José Maciel made a precise shot to the right of Clemente de Sousa. Humaita's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. 32 minutes into the game, Tiago Gabriel Furlan was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Humaita's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Altos the free kick. Tiago Gabriel Furlan kicked well hit freekick during the 32nd minute of the match. Pedro Nascimento could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Clemente de Sousa made a huge save. Tiago Gabriel Furlan got his second yellow card in the match during the 35th minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Clemente de Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Paulo Seco, who was totally free with the ball in the 39th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling João Paulo Seco in the 40th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Clemente de Sousa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. The crowd rose to their feet as José Maciel kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Clemente de Sousa. That made the score 5-0 in the 44 minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 5-0.

54 minutes into the match, João Paulo Seco notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Humaita's Clemente de Sousa. Clemente de Sousa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Pedro Nascimento in the 58th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Clemente de Sousa saved Humaita from getting behind. After having played for 63 minutes, Gerson Arce managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Altos's supporters crossed their fingers, but Gerson Arce was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 65 minutes into the game, Rony Leme cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Clemente de Sousa was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. An unexpectedly hard shot by Douglas Borges in the 72nd minute of play forced Humaita's goalkeeper Clemente de Sousa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 76 minutes into the game, João Paulo Seco was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. José Maria de Queirós sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 88 minutes into the match, José Maciel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Clemente de Sousa. Humaita's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that José Maciel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 8-1. João Paulo Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 92nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Clemente de Sousa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Rony Leme, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side.
