After a defensive mix-up in Cocal EC's zone, Paulinho Trigo stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. João Oliveira came out of the goal and Paulinho Trigo tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience was convinced that Paulinho Trigo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Oliveira was relentless in the 20th minute of the game. Giovani Melo kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. Bruninho Barreto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Celso Queirós in the 23rd minute of the match. In the 24thth minute of the game Paulinho Trigo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Cocal EC's João Oliveira was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Giovani Melo was shown his second yellow card after 25 minutes, following a rather ugly tackle on opponent. That was the end of his participation in the match. A collision led to Cocal EC getting a freekick after 25 minutes play. Giovani Melo hit a great ball. Oiti EC's Gilmar Cabral got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 30th minute, Celso Queirós hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Nildo Batista hit a great freekick 34 minutes into the match. João Oliveira stood somewhat misplaced when Paulinho Trigo came free in front of goal and shot 2-0 to the left of him in the 35 minute. Cocal EC's João Oliveira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Paulinho Trigo in the 38th minute of play. The supporters of Oiti EC booed when Cocal EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Nildo Batista didn't get a good kick on the ball. If Gilmar Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 43rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-0 at half-time.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Paulinho Trigo to make the kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 56th minute, Celso Queirós managed to get in a good position for a shot. Cocal EC's supporters rose to their feet, but Celso Queirós was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bruninho Barreto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. João Oliveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Paulinho Trigo, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Paulinho Trigo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 64th minute. João Oliveira tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The Oiti EC fans' excitement grew in the 71st match minute when Oiti EC's Paulinho Trigo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Claudinei Rezende's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bruninho Barreto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 77th minute of play. The nice shot from Claudinei Rezende in the 78thth minute just in front of the goal should have ended in point on the board, but Bruninho Barreto had a great feel for the game and superbly saved the ball from getting in by the left post. Moisés Guerra hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. João Oliveira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomé Matorin in the 84th minute of play. If Paulinho Trigo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 89th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The audience was convinced that Paulinho Trigo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but João Oliveira was relentless in the 92nd minute of the game. In the 94th minute, Manoel Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There was no doubt that Oiti EC were the better team. Oiti EC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
