João Vítor Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dudu Barbosa in the 16th minute of play. Custódio Velasco fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tiago Gabriel Souto having to interfere. Tiago Gabriel Souto stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Custódio Velasco's shot from short distance in the 27th minute. Tiago Gabriel Souto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edgar Quirino, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. In the 29th minute, Edgar Quirino made a precise shot to the right of Tiago Gabriel Souto. Palestra's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. Custódio Velasco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 33rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In the 36th minute, Elói Vinhas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. A collision led to Palestra getting a freekick after 39 minutes play. Tadeu Saldanha hit a great ball. 41 minutes into the match, Taja E.C.'s Custódio Velasco sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Tiago Gabriel Souto narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A hard shot 43 in the game by Custódio Velasco from a close distance when the talented Tiago Gabriel Souto managed to make a qualified save. Palestra's players were relieved. Tostão Vieira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Tiago Gabriel Souto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Dudu Barbosa was the one to do the kick off. After a defensive mix-up in Palestra's zone, Elói Vinhas stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Tiago Gabriel Souto came out of the goal and Elói Vinhas tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. João Vítor Ceresso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tadeu Netto in the 54th minute of play. Tiago Gabriel Souto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tostão Vieira in the 56th minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Palestra's Claudinho Simões got a free kick in the 58th minute. 59 minutes into the match, Palestra's goal looked a bit too open when Custódio Velasco came free, but Tiago Gabriel Souto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The Taja E.C. fans' excitement grew in the 65th match minute when Taja E.C.'s Custódio Velasco looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. In the 76th minute of the match, Tadeu Netto got a very nice opportunity to score, but João Vítor Ceresso was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. When the match had gone on for 77 minutes, Custódio Velasco put it in 4-1 from a short distance just to the right of Tiago Gabriel Souto. Custódio Velasco blasted a shot towards the goal in the 84th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Tiago Gabriel Souto having to make a save. 92 minutes into the match, Palestra's goal looked a bit too open when Edgar Quirino came free, but Tiago Gabriel Souto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Taja E.C. players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
