After taking down the ball on Gomes F.C.'s corner Valdir Carneiro fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Aleandro Campidelis quite easily take care of the ball. After a defensive mix-up in Gomes F.C.'s zone, Agostinho Freire stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Gildo Santana came out of the goal and Agostinho Freire tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Aleandro Campidelis showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Naldo Zonta in the 27th minute of the match. With a little luck, Valencia SS's Aleandro Campidelis got control of the ball when Romário Pinheiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Naldo Zonta fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 31st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aleandro Campidelis having to interfere. When Pedrão Simão fell near the penalty area in the 32nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Valencia SS's protests and gave Pedrão Simão a yellow card for diving instead. In the 32nd match minute, Valencia SS was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Pedrão Simão to maneuver through the defense. If Naldo Zonta had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 33rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Aleandro Campidelis had great luck who in the 35thth minute grab hold of the ball when Naldo Zonta from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Gildo Santana showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agostinho Freire, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. A wasted opportunity for Gomes F.C.. 65 minutes into the match, Valencia SS's Agostinho Freire sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gildo Santana narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Naldo Netto kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. After recieving a nice pass, Valencia SS's Percy Quadros tried to score from far away in the 68th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. In the 87th minute the ball was on its way in behind Valencia SS's goalkeeper Aleandro Campidelis, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. If Agostinho Freire had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the referee blew the final whistle, Gomes F.C. could leave the field as winners, despite Valencia SS having more of the ball for most of the match.
