The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 6 minutes into the game, Ismael Tande recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Marcos Furtado. Marcos Furtado came out of the goal and Ismael Tande tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Samuca Quaresma fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 13th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmyr Cunha having to interfere. In the 14th minute, Mathias Senna hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Walmyr Cunha showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gildo de Barros in the 19th minute of the match. If Samuca Quaresma had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 26th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After some fancy dribbling in the 29th minute, Samuca Quaresma managed to get in a good position for a shot. The supporters of Acarape AD booed when Shock FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claudinho Nóbrega didn't get a good kick on the ball. Samuca Quaresma received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 43rd minute. Walmyr Cunha tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Shock FC's Walmyr Cunha played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Gernando Rodrigues in the 48th minute of play. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Samuca Quaresma stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Anderson Soeiro during the 62nd minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 63rd minute, the referee gave Acarape AD a penalty. Nildo Coutinho looked confident and blasted the ball into goal by the left post, totally unstoppable for Walmyr Cunha. Gildo de Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Walmyr Cunha having to interfere. Marcos Furtado made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 3-3. If Gildo Esteves had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 98th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Despite being the better team, Acarape AD failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
