Júnior Fonseca had several of the Caianana SC's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 4 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Dida Catarinense as he didn't even see the shot coming. After 7 minutes, Júnior Fonseca made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Caianana SC's Dida Catarinense tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. If Sydney Cordeiro had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 10th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. When Júnior Fonseca fell near the penalty area in the 12th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ajax FC's protests and gave Júnior Fonseca a yellow card for diving instead. After a rather tough play, Ajax FC's Júnior Fonseca got a free kick in the 12th minute. In the 14th minute Chico Quirino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hernani Rosa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 15th minute the ball was on its way in behind Caianana SC's goalkeeper Dida Catarinense, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Júnior Fonseca in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dida Catarinense prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 18 minutes, José Vítor Baiano mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caianana SC and the Ajax FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Caianana SC getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. José Vítor Baiano hit a great ball. After having played for 19 minutes, Júnior Fonseca managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ajax FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Júnior Fonseca was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 21st minute, Chico Quirino hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. When the match had gone on for 22 minutes, Júnior Fonseca put it in 3-0 from a short distance just to the right of Dida Catarinense. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artur Meira during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 31st minute, Artur Meira hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 37 played minutes Caianana SC got a freekick which was hit by Chico Quirino. Sydney Cordeiro who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 43rdth minute tested the skills of Dida Catarinense when he managed to save the team from getting behind. With his leg Dida Catarinense managed to avoid a goal in the 47thth minute, when Ajax FC's Sydney Cordeiro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Júnior Fonseca's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dida Catarinense read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 55th minute of play. Júnior Fonseca struck a weak shot in the 57th minute. Dida Catarinense didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ajax FC. In the 58thth minute of the game Júnior Fonseca who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Caianana SC's Dida Catarinense was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. 65 minutes into the match, Patrick Novaes notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Caianana SC's Dida Catarinense. Dida Catarinense was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 67th minute, Júnior Fonseca got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. When Sydney Cordeiro came up free with the goalie in the 69th minute, the Ajax FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sydney Cordeiro couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Caianana SC's Chico Quirino got a free kick in the 70th minute. Ajax FC's Sydney Cordeiro got a good chance for a goal in the 71st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Júnior Fonseca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Dida Catarinense tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 75 played minutes Caianana SC got a freekick which was hit by Chico Quirino. Mauro Souto hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. Cafu Soares, 78 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. Dida Catarinense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sydney Cordeiro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 85 played minutes Caianana SC got a freekick which was hit by Gilvan Moreira. The audience thought a goal was coming when Chico Quirino got free with Hernani Rosa in the 90th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. When Júnior Fonseca came up free with the goalie in the 94th minute, the Ajax FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Júnior Fonseca couldn't finish the play. Caianana SC's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
