Magno das Neves showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Benedito de Souza, who was totally free with the ball in the 3rd minute. After having played for 4 minutes, Giuseppe Galvão managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Sorocaba SS's supporters crossed their fingers, but Giuseppe Galvão was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Lauro Martins's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 7thth minute, Leonardo Albuquerque skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. Giuseppe Galvão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 9th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After recieving a nice pass, Sorocaba SS's Guga Castro tried to score from far away in the 11th minute, but the ball went over the crossbar. When Sorocaba SS's Giuseppe Galvão in the 13th minute got a chance for a shot 13th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Tabajara FC's goalie prevented a goal. 15 minutes into the match, Tabajara FC's goal looked a bit too open when Benedito de Souza came free, but Magno das Neves reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A collision led to Tabajara FC getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Hélio Vergílio hit a great ball. Benedito de Souza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Magno das Neves having to make a save. In the 21st minute Benedito de Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magno das Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Benedito de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. After a defensive mix-up in Tabajara FC's zone, Benedito de Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magno das Neves came out of the goal and Benedito de Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Magno das Neves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Benedito de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 39 played minutes Sorocaba SS got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Marinho. Sorocaba SS's Leonardo Albuquerque proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Sorocaba SS from getting a goal against them. When Giuseppe Galvão came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Sorocaba SS fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Giuseppe Galvão couldn't finish the play. After a defensive mix-up in Tabajara FC's zone, Benedito de Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Magno das Neves came out of the goal and Benedito de Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 45th minute Benedito de Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Magno das Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Benedito de Souza to strike the kick off in the second half. After 51 played minutes Tabajara FC got a freekick which was hit by Hélio Vergílio. With a little luck, Tabajara FC's Magno das Neves got control of the ball when Giuseppe Galvão tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Benedito de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 66 minutes in the game, Benedito de Souza fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Magno das Neves having to interfere. With his leg Magno das Neves managed to avoid a goal in the 66thth minute, when Sorocaba SS's Giuseppe Galvão fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Benedito de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 68th minute. Magno das Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Benedito de Souza struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Magno das Neves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sorocaba SS. Lauro Martins took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Leonardo Albuquerque. Leonardo Albuquerque dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. Giuseppe Galvão who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 89thth minute tested the skills of Magno das Neves when he managed to save the team from getting behind. When Hélio Vergílio fell near the penalty area in the 90th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Tabajara FC's protests and gave Hélio Vergílio a yellow card for diving instead. If Benedito de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 95th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Sorocaba SS were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Tabajara FC to leave the ground with a draw.
