Boqueirao SC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Palestra F.C the free kick. Hugo Perez hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. Christiano Moreno took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antônio Carlos Costa, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When the match clock showed 35 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Percy Montenegro sped through Boqueirao SC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Christiano Moreno. Aílton Valle could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 40th minute of the match, but Vitinho Fantini made a huge save. Christiano Moreno stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Percy Montenegro's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. Christiano Moreno made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Antônio Carlos Costa in the 44th minute of play. Palestra F.C's Gláuber Santos pulled a muscle in his back after 47 minutes and couldn't finish the game. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. An unexpectedly hard shot by Hugo Perez in the 68th minute of play forced Palestra F.C's goalkeeper Vitinho Fantini to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Antônio Carlos Costa struck a weak shot in the 69th minute. Christiano Moreno didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Palestra F.C. After some fancy dribbling in the 73rd minute, Percy Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Palestra F.C's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
