Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Naldo Cabral in the 26th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Samuca Alcântara prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Naldo Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Léo Paulista fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Samuca Alcântara having to interfere. When Léo Paulista came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Canto do Forte fans jumped to their feet. Samuca Alcântara came out of the goal and Naldo Cabral tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Naldo Cabral made the kick off in the second half. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Pedro Luiz Vergílio during the 54th minute. Brejatuba SS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Wellington Pirani was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-4. Brejatuba SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Osmar Duarte was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Sebastião Negri breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Naldo Cabral in the 89thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal.
