After having played for 5 minutes, Ademar Zilles managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Pedra Pequena's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ademar Zilles was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 8 minutes into the match, Karol Kazimierz notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Real Santos's Washington Lima. Washington Lima was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. A collision led to Real Santos getting a freekick after 10 minutes play. Erivaldo Trancoso hit a great ball. Karol Kazimierz received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 12th minute. Washington Lima tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Adhemar Saraiva made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fabiano Prado in the 14th minute of play. Fabiano Prado struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Adhemar Saraiva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Real Santos. Washington Lima was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Ademar Zilles showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 26 minute of play. In the 32nd minute, Karol Kazimierz made a precise shot to the right of Washington Lima. Real Santos's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 3-0. Karol Kazimierz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 35th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. 37 minutes into the match, Real Santos's Doriva Leão sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Adhemar Saraiva narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 40th minute of the match, Ademar Zilles tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Washington Lima saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. After 42 played minutes Real Santos got a freekick which was hit by Dênis de Sena. After 44 played minutes, Pedra Pequena's João Carlos Meireles shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Washington Lima came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pedra Pequena reached it. Karol Kazimierz scored 4-0 in the 48th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Washington Lima, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Ademar Zilles made the kick off in the second half. Real Santos's Washington Lima played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Matías Medeiros in the 57th minute of play. A nice corner shot did that João Carlos Meireles got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Washington Lima quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Washington Lima made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tarcisio Fantini in the 60th minute of play. Fabiano Prado recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 66th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Adhemar Saraiva showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Doriva Leão in the 75th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Fabiano Prado in the 81st minute of play forced Pedra Pequena's goalkeeper Adhemar Saraiva to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 82nd match minute, Real Santos was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Erivaldo Trancoso to maneuver through the defense. In the 83rd minute Ademar Zilles shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Washington Lima saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Pedra Pequena booed when Real Santos was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 87 match minutes in a wonderful position. Erivaldo Trancoso didn't get a good kick on the ball. Ademar Zilles sent away a hard shot on goal in the 95th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Pedra Pequena fans cheered their team off the field, for while Real Santos had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
