Adriano Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rômulo Rosado, who was totally free with the ball in the 21st minute. In the 22nd minute, Severino Trigo made a precise shot to the right of Adriano Secco. Imperadores's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-1. 26 minutes into the game, Severino Trigo was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ogp Santos's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Imperadores the free kick. If Marian Kochanowski had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Chico de Queiroz took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Álvaro Victor, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 35 minutes into the match, Doni Falcão notched a goal, 0-2, to the right of Imperadores's Adriano Secco. Adriano Secco was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The crowd rose to their feet as Álvaro Victor kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Chico de Queiroz. That made the score 1-2 in the 43 minute of play. Doni Falcão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 49th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 1-2 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marian Kochanowski was the one to do the kick off. Edu Martins hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. When the match clock showed 54 minutes, the score became 2-2 when Marian Kochanowski sped through Ogp Santos's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Chico de Queiroz. Doni Falcão fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Adriano Secco having to interfere. 61 minutes into the game, one of Imperadores:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Willian Galvão shot the penalty kick by force right in the crossbar. No goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Marian Kochanowski in the 68th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Chico de Queiroz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After a defensive mix-up in Imperadores's zone, Doni Falcão stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Adriano Secco came out of the goal and Doni Falcão tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Rômulo Rosado blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Adriano Secco having to make a save. A hard shot 89 in the game by Doni Falcão from a close distance when the talented Adriano Secco managed to make a qualified save. Imperadores's players were relieved. Imperadores's Adriano Secco proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 91st minute of the match, managed to save Imperadores from getting a goal against them. Edu Martins's late challenge caught a Imperadores's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edu Martins helped the player get up and apologised. Edu Martins hit a great freekick 95 minutes into the match. Álvaro Victor struck a weak shot in the 97th minute. Chico de Queiroz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Imperadores.
