The referee ignored Uruque SS's protests and gave José Augusto Pinheiro a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of Uruque SS booed when Junqueira SC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 27 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Lopes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Elano Cardozo who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 80thth minute tested the skills of Claudinho Gaspar when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Jacinto Marinho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Claudinho Gaspar having to interfere. When Uruque SS's Elano Cardozo in the 92nd minute got a chance for a shot 92nd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Junqueira SC's goalie prevented a goal. Fred Koehler made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cauã Pombal in the 93rd minute of play. In the 96th minute, Hermínio Ramos hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Junqueira SC fans cheered their team off the field, for while Uruque SS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
