Cova EC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Vladimir Nunes was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-0. Edgard Mineiro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Róbson Marques in the 23rd minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Constant's Laerte de Amaral got a free kick in the 24th minute. Tony Lago received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Mané Rossi came out and tried to block the shot, but Tony Lago slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 32nd minute. Edgard Mineiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Nelson Cerezo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tony Lago fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Mané Rossi having to interfere. The supporters of Constant booed when Cova EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Otávio Almeida didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tony Lago sent away a hard shot on goal in the 41st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.
