In the 18th minute, Cléberson de Souza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Dorival Jacinto fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 24th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Célio Lara having to interfere. If Dorival Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a rather tough play, Piaus AD's Henrique Campidelis got a free kick in the 28th minute. In the 31st minute, Duarte Furtado hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 41st minute, Cléberson de Souza made a precise shot to the right of Cristiano Maranhense. CA Dominadores's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. Cléberson de Souza might have been able to make a better finish in the 48th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Cristiano Maranhense. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Cléberson de Souza ran back to his position shaking his head. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 1-2.

After 60 minutes, Duarte Furtado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the CA Dominadores and the Piaus AD players grew even worse after the yellow card. CA Dominadores's Cristiano Maranhense proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 69th minute of the match, managed to save CA Dominadores from getting a goal against them. In the 74th match minute, Piaus AD was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Henrique Campidelis to maneuver through the defense. Fernando Martins's late challenge caught a Piaus AD's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Fernando Martins helped the player get up and apologised. Cristiano Maranhense took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Adriano Antunes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. If Dorival Jacinto had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. The teams fought very hard right up to the final whistle.
