Guerreiros das Trevas's Gláuber Mazza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 7th minute of the match, managed to save Guerreiros das Trevas from getting a goal against them. In the 14th minute Ramón de Moraes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Hudson Barreto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Timboteua's supporters rose to their feet, but Claudinho Tinoco was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post.
