After a rather tough play, Arenal's Percy Fernandes got a free kick in the 35th minute. Reginaldo Matos was probably a little too eager to shoot when he, in the 37th played minute, shot the ball from way out. The shot was hard, but the ball flew wide of the goal. In the 39thth minute of the game Ahmet Emir Şikel who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Arenal's Noel Soeiro was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. If Célio Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 40th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match clock showed 44 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Ahmet Emir Şikel sped through Arenal's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Noel Soeiro. After 46 played minutes Arenal got a freekick which was hit by Percy Fernandes. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. Arlindo Saldanha charged in rather forcefully in the 78th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Brusque F.C's players were relieved. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marco Soeiro in the 93rd minute of play forced Arenal's goalkeeper Noel Soeiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Arenal's Noel Soeiro played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ahmet Emir Şikel in the 96th minute of play. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Brusque F.C fans cheered their team off the field, for while Arenal had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
