Hélder Vasconcelos dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-0. After 16 minutes, Henrique Matorin made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Poramana SC's Hélder Vasconcelos tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. The crowd rose to their feet as Fortaleza's Henrique Matorin slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Hélder Vasconcelos. That made the score 3-0 after 19 minutes of play. César Cosme might have been able to make a better finish in the 28th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hélder Vasconcelos. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. César Cosme ran back to his position shaking his head. After some careless play in the Poramana SC defense, César Cosme kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Hélder Vasconcelos. The Poramana SC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Hélder Vasconcelos should have stopped the shot. After having played for 35 minutes, César Cosme managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fortaleza's supporters crossed their fingers, but César Cosme was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. César Cosme in the 37thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Hélder Vasconcelos, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. After a defensive mix-up in Poramana SC's zone, César Cosme stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hélder Vasconcelos came out of the goal and César Cosme tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 45 minutes into the match, Fortaleza's César Cosme sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Hélder Vasconcelos narrowly saved just below the crossbar. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 4-0.

Deivid Quadros hit a great freekick 77 minutes into the match. 79 minutes into the match, Fortaleza's Romeu Rezende broke free and took a long shot that unfortunately flew wide. A fine initiative that could have resulted in a goal. In the 80th minute, César Cosme made a precise shot to the right of Hélder Vasconcelos. Poramana SC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-0. Henrique Matorin blasted a shot towards the goal in the 87th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Hélder Vasconcelos having to make a save. 90 minutes into the match, Poramana SC's goal looked a bit too open when César Cosme came free, but Hélder Vasconcelos reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Fortaleza's César Cosme got a good chance for a goal in the 92nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Hélder Vasconcelos took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Henrique Matorin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. Fortaleza fully deserved thier win.
