Valdo Matos charged in rather forcefully in the 11th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Valdo Matos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 11th minute of the game. One of Carovi:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Mucuitu:s goal. The referee gave Mucuitu a penalty, 13 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Tomé Sá, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Carovi's Jonas Chaves. 0-1. After 16 played minutes Carovi got a freekick which was hit by Artur Arósio. Zé Carlos Tande fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 21st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Luizão Leão having to interfere. A collision led to Carovi getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Dino Santos hit a great ball. William das Neves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 27th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonas Chaves having to interfere. Zé Carlos Tande recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Aílton Soeiro received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 44th minute. Luizão Leão tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Mucuitu's Luizão Leão got control of the ball when Aílton Soeiro tried to sneak it across the goal line. Jonas Chaves took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from William das Neves, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zé Carlos Tande made a kick off. When Mucuitu's William das Neves in the 54th minute got a chance for a shot 54th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Carovi's goalie prevented a goal. Raí Cunha fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 64th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonas Chaves having to interfere. After a defensive mix-up in Carovi's zone, William das Neves stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Jonas Chaves came out of the goal and William das Neves tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. William das Neves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Luizão Leão showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Zé Carlos Tande, who was totally free with the ball in the 70th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by William das Neves in the 74th minute of play forced Carovi's goalkeeper Jonas Chaves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. When Carovi's Zé Carlos Tande in the 75th minute got a chance for a shot 75th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Raí Cunha struck a weak shot in the 96th minute. Jonas Chaves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mucuitu. The Mucuitu players were the happier at the end of the match as they had prevented Carovi from taking control. The game ends in a draw.
