Betão Vidal didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mineiros Esporte Clube. Durval Goiano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Edu Guimarães, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. Edu Guimarães's late challenge caught a Mineiros Esporte Clube's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Edu Guimarães helped the player get up and apologised. In the 88th match minute, Salford was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edu Guimarães to maneuver through the defense. Renato Braga fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 89th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Betão Vidal having to interfere. The Mineiros Esporte Clube fans' excitement grew in the 91st match minute when Mineiros Esporte Clube's Kaká Novaes looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 6-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. If Jairo Negri had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 96th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead.
