Spectators: 5000 (Terracing: 4000, Seating: 1000, VIP seats: 0) It was fairly windy and cold on the field when Maicon Alves kicked off to start the match. Rafael Duarte received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Paulo Cosme tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 27 minutes, Hortêncio Figueiredo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Bateias's supporters crossed their fingers, but Hortêncio Figueiredo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 29 minutes into the match, Aproaga's goal looked a bit too open when Raí Queirós came free, but Clóvis Mineiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Maicon Alves fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 35th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo Cosme having to interfere. In the 37th minute Maicon Alves shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Cosme saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rafael Duarte's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Paulo Cosme read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 40th minute of play. When Nilson Pereira fell near the penalty area in the 43rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Bateias's protests and gave Nilson Pereira a yellow card for diving instead. After 48 played minutes Aproaga got a freekick which was hit by José Valladares. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell João Adolfo Travassos to make the kick off. If Rafael Duarte had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 53rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paulo Cosme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Sílvio Luís da Cunha, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 56 minutes into the match, Aproaga's goalkeeper Clóvis Mineiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Hortêncio Figueiredo. If Hortêncio Figueiredo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 58th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 68 minutes into the match, Aproaga's Breno Sergipano sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Paulo Cosme narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Clóvis Mineiro tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Maicon Alves sent away a hard shot on goal in the 78th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The supporters of Aproaga booed when Bateias was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ciro Berger didn't get a good kick on the ball. The Bateias supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Bateias would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
