Luiz Alcântara might have been able to make a better finish in the 3rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Marcinho Pinheiro. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Luiz Alcântara ran back to his position shaking his head. After 4 minutes, Valério Guedes mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Caninae and the Itapororoca players grew even worse after the yellow card. If Valério Guedes had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpected shot in the 9th minute by Valério Guedes got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Joaquim de Barros showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Durval Campidelis in the 16th minute of the match. After having played for 18 minutes, Durval Campidelis managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapororoca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Durval Campidelis was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. 20 minutes into the match, Itapororoca's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Alcântara came free, but Marcinho Pinheiro reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After having played for 25 minutes, Nildo Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Itapororoca's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nildo Melo was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Eugênio Neiva charged in rather forcefully in the 30th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Eugênio Neiva the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Valério Guedes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 35th minute of the match, but Marcinho Pinheiro made a huge save. Joaquim de Barros showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Durval Campidelis, who was totally free with the ball in the 37th minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 38th minute, Nildo Melo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Itapororoca's supporters rose to their feet, but Nildo Melo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Joaquim de Barros breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When Nildo Melo came up free with the goalie in the 39th minute, the Itapororoca fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Nildo Melo couldn't finish the play. 43 minutes into the match, Itapororoca's Durval Campidelis sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Joaquim de Barros narrowly saved just below the crossbar. The Caninae players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Itapororoca were winning 0-2.
Luiz Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 52nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Marcinho Pinheiro showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 55th minute. Marcinho Pinheiro took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Valério Guedes, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Alcântara in the 62nd minute of play forced Itapororoca's goalkeeper Marcinho Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joaquim de Barros made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Durval Campidelis in the 64th minute of play. Belmiro de Souza kicked well hit freekick during the 68th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luiz Alcântara in the 72nd minute of play forced Itapororoca's goalkeeper Marcinho Pinheiro to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Caninae's supporters rose to their feet, but Valério Guedes was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marcinho Pinheiro breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Durval Campidelis received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 81st minute. Joaquim de Barros tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Durval Campidelis blasted a shot towards the goal in the 93rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Joaquim de Barros having to make a save. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched Itapororoca eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
